DOMAINE DE VALENSAC

Valensac's vineyards have been owned by the Lafon family for more than a century. They are situated in the Languedoc, near the village of Valensac in the departement of l'Hérault, six kilometers from Agde and Marseillan. François Lafon, who now owns Domaine de Valensac, aims to develop the estate with new perspectives with the help of his technical and sales team.

The vineyards span over 45 ha, one third planted with white varieties.
Currently, 18 ha of Chardonnay and 3 ha of Sauvignon produce aromatic white wines with great finesse. Domaine de Valensac also includes 7 ha of Cabernet Sauvignon and 6 ha of Merlot and both contribute to make fruity reds combining structure and suppleness.
Domaine de Valensac spans across various terroirs from sandy loam soils to gravelly clay-limestone terraces.

The wine cellar (oder winery) has been fitted out (oder equipped with beides ohne equipment) with very modern (oder the very latest) technology (oder very hi-tech equipment) : the "Elite" make of skin fermentation (maceration) tanks, pneumatic (air bag) presses and stainless steel vats with temperature-controlled fermentation... Two vinification oder winemaking and ageing cellars have been built (oder constructed), both hi-tech (oder with the latest technology), one for whith wines and one for red wines. As a result, the grapes are vinified (handled) with great care and wine is made in ideal conditions.

In the third cellar, equipped with air-conditioning (oder... third air-conditioned cellar...), the winemaking is done traditionallly as well as ageing in casks (oder cask-ageing).

Domaine de Valensac makes a range of white, red and rosé wines :

Chardonnay, Vin de Pays d'Oc.
Sauvignon, Vin de Pays d'Oc.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Vin de Pays d'Oc.
Merlot, Vin de Pays d'Oc.

In addition, wines are made from plots lying around the estate - planted with Petit Verdot, Svrah, Viognier, Petit Manseng and Riesling - to complete the range of wines. The winery has been fitted out with the very latest technology : skin fermentation tanks type "Elite", pneumatic (air bag) presses and stainless steel vats with temperature-controlled.
